This Wednesday, L’Equipe reviewed the negotiations launched by Paris Saint-Germain for contract extensions. There are several issues, some more urgent or complicated, including: Fabian Ruiz (29-year-old midfielder, contract until 2027), Senny Mayulu (19-year-old midfielder, contract until 2027), Ibrahim Mbaye (17-year-old forward, contract until 2027), Bradley Barcola (28-year-old forward, contract until 2028), Ousmane Dembélé (28-year-old forward, contract until 2028), and Willian Pacho (23-year-old defender, contract until 2029).

Some “urgent” cases

“While the biggest issue to deal with remains that of Ousmane Dembélé, recent Ballon d’Or winner, Paris hopes to be able to announce several extensions in the coming months. Some are more urgent than others: Fabian Ruiz and Senny Mayulu must sign this season to avoid a hectic summer. Ibrahim Mbaye, also whose contract expires in 2027, has an option for an additional year.

Barcola, it’s not a done deal.

Paris is moving forward with the Ballon d’Or winner, Dembélé, but also with Barcola, who was courted last summer, notably by Bayern Munich and Liverpool. With the idea of joining the top 8 earners? That’s the thrust of recent discussions. Although they began several months ago, the talks seem to be dragging on.

Pacho, already a step forward.

Not among the top 15 highest earners at the club (€2.5 million net, scalable based on the number of appearances), he arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2024. Pacho has an offer of a two-year extension (until 2031).

Luis Campos met with his representatives in September. The central defender must now respond to the offer. All parties are satisfied with the nature of the discussions and an agreement could be reached quickly.”

We remain cautious; nothing is certain until an official announcement is made. But these are issues that seem relatively logical and were recently mentioned by PSG Inside Actus. We can hope that several media outlets will have similar indications in the near future, for a good reason.

It’s quite clear that PSG is working on extensions; this makes sense for those that expire in 2027. And we don’t see why Paris would let Ruiz, a valuable midfielder, or Mayulu and Mbaye, its two Titis players who play regularly, leave. As for Pacho and Dembélé, we expect a salary increase. The former has established himself among the best and the latter won the Ballon d’Or. But there’s no need to rush; their contracts allow time.

The same goes for Barcola, except the striker is in high demand and the outcome of the talks seems a little less certain. We’re wary of this suspense, since some media outlets have been rather optimistic. There’s not the slightest sign of a departure at the moment. But football can move quickly; we’ll wait, as always, for official communication from a player or PSG for certainty.
