Vitinha (25), Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, paid tribute to Marco Verratti, former PSG midfielder (2012-2023), in an excerpt from an interview with Ici Paris Île-de-France (the full interview will be available on Wednesday). The Portuguese player recalled the privilege he had of sharing the pitch with the Italian maestro, praising him as a “complete” player, equally strong in both defense and creativity.

Vitinha: “He was a complete midfielder.”

It was a pleasure, it was a privilege to share the pitch with him. I consider myself young, but I was even younger then, I had just arrived and playing in midfield with him was a real privilege. He was a 100% complete midfielder, he had everything. He had defense, he had attack, he had vision, he had technique, he was a total midfielder.

I really enjoyed playing with him, I felt that we complemented each other very well too. It’s a shame we couldn’t play together more, but I was very happy to share the field with him. He’s a magician, a great midfielder.
