This Friday, during Matchday 22 of Ligue 1 2025-2026, Paris Saint-Germain faced Rennes at Roazhon Park. After a match in which the Red and Blue made many mistakes, they lost 3-1. Here are our player ratings for the Parisians.
Goalkeeper –
Matvey Safonov (4) – A fairly calm first half. Well caught out of position on the goal, he can’t really fault himself. However, he wasn’t decisive.
Defenders –
Achraf Hakimi (4.5) – He’s still not at his best; he needs to play more minutes. His first half was rather sluggish. He was instrumental in Dembélé’s goal.
Ilyia Zabarnyi (3) – A difficult first half. A very weak second half as well; Marquinhos has nothing to worry about at the moment.
Willian Pacho (3) – He wasn’t at fault for Rennes’ first-half goal, having been impeccable until then. It’s also important to acknowledge when he’s not at his best, as was the case against Rennes this Friday.
Nuno Mendes (4) – He’s always got fire in his legs, but the goal still came from a lapse in judgment on his part. Ultimately, a fairly average match, below his usual standard.
Midfielders –
Joao Neves (4) – He battles hard, runs a lot, but struggles to make a significant impact. He lacked a few things to shine as usual. Replaced by Dro Fernandez in the 70th minute.
Vitinha (5.5) – Always a presence in the build-up play, he showed some flashes of brilliance, but he’s still far from the great Vitinha. He played deep in the first half of this match. Even though he was the most influential Parisian player, he played too deep to have a greater impact on the game.
Warren Zaïre-Emery (5) – Always powerful in duels, he lacked that spark of attacking brilliance he’s capable of in the first half. Strong, he also lacked the finesse to drive the play forward.
Forwards –
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (5) – Lively, inspired at times, he couldn’t make a difference in the first half. Replaced in the 60th minute by Bradley Barcola.
Ousmane Dembélé (5.5) – He dropped back a lot to collect the ball early in the match. Then, he was seen more on the wing, making some incisive runs. He scored a header, but it was a difficult game for him. Replaced by Gonçalo Ramos in the 74th minute.
Désiré Doué (3) – He’s not the great Doué, his choices aren’t the right ones, and he’s clearly lacking in confidence. Substituted in the 60th minute by Lee Kang-in.
Coach –
Luis Enrique (4) – He too is inconsistent with his team. He’s aware that nothing will be easy this season. He still manages to keep his substitutes ready to make a difference. But this PSG is sluggish away from home; they’re missing a few details to have the same advantage they had last season.
