On Saturday evening, Paris Saint-Germain secured a 3-0 victory against Metz in Matchday 23 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season at the Parc des Princes. Here are the highs and lows of this win.
Highs –
❤️ An interesting debut for Dro Fernandez.
It wasn’t all perfect for the 18-year-old midfielder, who still lacks a bit of physical strength for some Ligue 1 duels. But Dro Fernandez showed great promise in his first start for PSG. His technical ability is complemented by excellent vision, and he doesn’t neglect the team effort. Without a doubt, we’ll want to see him again.
Warren Zaïre-Emery, be careful not to get too comfortable.
The 19-year-old midfielder started again and hardly ever seems to tire. Impressive in duels, composed on the ball, he’s a leader in midfield. He even provided the assist for Désiré Doué. Be careful, we might start to take this for granted. And Zaïre-Emery’s performances become almost “commonplace.” But what he’s achieving is far from easy, and even less so at his age.
The team spirit.
The team was reshuffled, there were a few inaccuracies and missed opportunities, but the collective desire was definitely there, both offensively and defensively. We like to see this PSG with the right intentions; we know that the rest will eventually fall into place.
First place already reclaimed.
This is significant. After some dramatization by certain players following last weekend’s defeat in Rennes, PSG is already back at the top of Ligue 1 thanks to Lens’s loss against Monaco (2-3). It’s great that it happened so quickly.

😡Alert for Désiré Doué?
Désiré Doué, the 20-year-old midfielder/forward, had to leave the field at halftime after showing signs of groin strain. There’s no major concern yet, as he was running to the locker room. But an injury is possible.
