Paris Saint-Germain defeated Le Havre 1-0 this Saturday at the Stade Océane in Matchday 24 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. After the match, PSG coach Luis Enrique spoke to Ligue1+.
Luis Enrique: “I would like the players to regain their confidence.”
A very hard-fought victory, what are your thoughts?
It was difficult because the result doesn’t clearly reflect what happened on the pitch. We clearly deserved to win; we had many chances and missed a penalty. But to deserve goals, you have to be clinical. It’s an internal battle. If you want to play a match in Le Havre without suffering, you have to be more clinical.
Are you getting used to the struggles?
It’s part of being a coach; there are struggles every year, all the time. Even last season when we won everything. It’s a unique job. Tonight, I was frustrated for a large part of the match. We deserved more, and I’d like the players to regain their confidence. We need to improve, myself included.
Luis Enrique: “This is the key part of the season.”
Did you like the defensive performance?
What I can say about this team, the way we attack and defend, is that there’s no problem with the will or the attitude. We lacked precision, but not attitude.
Is it important to have a four-point lead to rotate the squad more?
We have to look at the schedule, manage the minutes, but this is the key part of the season to win in Ligue 1 and the Champions League. We have to keep winning, while managing our minutes.
The match against Nantes was postponed?
Yes, that’s very positive. We represent our city, but also France. That’s important.
