Paris Saint-Germain defeated Le Havre 1-0 this Saturday at the Stade Océane in Matchday 24 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. After the match, PSG coach Luis Enrique spoke at a press conference.
Luis Enrique: “It’s not normal that we’re missing so many clear-cut chances.”
Despite the two victories, are you focusing on PSG’s struggles against Le Havre and Monaco?
“If I think about the match against Le Havre, it was our most comfortable game, we deserved the win. We created a lot of chances, we missed another penalty. In the end, we struggled, but we deserved to win that match.”
Does this latest missed penalty show a lack of confidence?
“We’re going through a difficult period. It’s not normal that we’re missing so many clear-cut chances.” We have a lot of players who can take penalties. Only those who take them can miss. But we’ll continue to rotate our penalty takers. I’m happy because we had a lot of shots on goal.
Luis Enrique: “We’ll try to be at our best.”
What did you think of Bradley Barcola’s performance?
“It’s a new position for him. He had a very good game, he scored, he was very mobile… He’s showing that we can see him again as a number 9 in the future.”
Luis Enrique: “Le Havre had their strengths and they tried.”
Do you feel more at ease with this 4-point lead in the league?
“At ease? At PSG, ease doesn’t exist. It’s not in our mentality. We have the opportunity to get players back, to improve, because right now we’re less confident than usual.” We’re going to try to play with all our heart, like we have in recent years. Whether we score or not, I don’t know what will happen, but we’re going to try to play to our potential.
Le Havre pushed much harder at the end of the match, how do you explain that?
“At the end of a match, it’s normal. When a team plays long balls and puts five players in the box, you have to know how to defend. Normally, we control the game and want the ball in the opposition’s half, but Le Havre had their strengths and tried. But we deserved our victory.”
