Vitinha, the 26-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, spoke out in a documentary broadcast by Canal11. He took the opportunity to address recurring rumors of interest from Real Madrid and a possible move to Saudi Arabia. The Portuguese international, under contract with PSG until 2029, was very clear.

Vitinha: “It would be stupid to leave!”

“A transfer to Real Madrid?

It would be stupid to leave! I don’t think it’s the best thing for me. I feel great here at PSG! I feel that people really appreciate me, and I feel like I’ve earned that affection. I love being here at PSG, and so does my family. We have a fantastic group and an incredible coach.

Saudi Arabia?

Let’s not be naive. I’m more committed to a stable career. I already earn a very good living here in Europe, at a big club. Doubling or tripling that salary wouldn’t make me any happier.”

One can only appreciate such a clear answer, especially since players often leave a little room for doubt, particularly when big clubs are mentioned. We’re all familiar with the phrases surrounding the fast-paced world of football and the “you never know” mentality. Vitinha, however, knows very well. He has no intention of leaving PSG.

The Portuguese player emphasizes that he is very happy at the club, as is his family. Everything is in place off the pitch, and there’s a certain sporting strength to enjoy the game and win titles. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll stay forever. But a departure isn’t being considered at the moment, and we suspect the club has no intention of letting him go.

His perspective on Saudi Arabia is also refreshing, even if we can understand the temptation of the financial aspect. His salary at PSG is already very comfortable, and seeking a significant raise isn’t a priority.
