Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the 25-year-old Paris Saint-Germain striker, spoke to TNT Sports after PSG’s 5-2 victory over Chelsea on Wednesday at the Parc des Princes in the first leg of their 2025-2026 Champions League Round of 16 tie (second leg on March 17).
Kvaratskhelia said, “There’s still the match in London and we’re focused.”
Did PSG raise their game?
“We did a great job, we beat Chelsea by three goals. It’s important for us, there’s still the match in London and we’re focused. We have to prepare.”
How did the match turn around?
“It’s hard to say, but there was Vitinha’s goal. Chelsea played well, scored two goals. But we didn’t stop, we kept scoring.” It’s good for us to be on the right track.
Kvaratskhelia: “We’re the same team.”
Does it feel like facing last season’s PSG?
You could say that, but we’re the same team. We’ve had some tough times, but we can handle them. We have to work hard and keep going.
A significant advantage for the return leg?
Of course, but nothing is over yet. Anything is possible in football. We’re ready for the next match and we’ll be fully focused.
