Bradley Barcola, the 23-year-old Paris Saint-Germain striker, had to give way to Désiré Doué (20 years old) in the 58th minute of PSG’s match against Chelsea this Tuesday evening at Stamford Bridge in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16. The club released an official statement following the examinations.
“Having suffered a severe ligament sprain in his right ankle during yesterday’s match against Chelsea, Bradley Barcola will be unavailable for the next few weeks.”
While a relatively short absence was hoped for, Barcola will ultimately need to be patient with such an injury. The only small consolation is that the international break begins this Monday, which limits the number of matches he will miss with PSG. However, he has been significantly hampered in his momentum, especially given his excellent form.
