Sidelined with a knee injury since January 20th, Fabian Ruiz is eagerly awaited by Paris Saint-Germain. According to RMC Sport, the 29-year-old Spanish midfielder’s return to competition is finally taking shape.
“Fabian Ruiz, who has been injured in the knee, is expected to resume full training with PSG after the international break. If all goes well, he will rejoin Luis Enrique’s squad shortly thereafter.” PSG will face Liverpool the week of April 6th for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
We remain cautious, as we’ve already seen several reports about PSG’s injury situation that turned out to be incorrect. In Ruiz’s case, there’s a feeling he’s not that far off, but the concern persists and patience is required. A return after the international break still seems possible, given the time he has to prepare.
The sports media outlet is taking a fairly minimal risk here. We’re hoping for confirmation, as a prolonged absence would be a very unpleasant surprise.
