Paris Saint-Germain lost 1-2 to Olympique Lyonnais this Sunday at the Parc des Princes in Matchday 30 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. After the match, PSG coach Luis Enrique spoke to PSG TV.
Enrique: “We had 23 shots, they had five, and they scored two goals.”
“We tried to score goals, we missed a penalty, and we scored with our last shot. That’s football. At the start of the match, we saw that we were having problems, and it was difficult. But I think the team tried to create chances. We had 23 shots, they had five, and they scored two goals.”
Enrique: “We need to win all three points in every match.”
“When you have a team with that kind of efficiency, it’s difficult to win the match.” It’s a shame because we need points and we’re aiming to play our best every three days. Today, we changed six players, but it will be difficult; we need to win all three points in every match. We have to prepare for the Nantes game and know that the league title race is getting tougher because Lens won.
A logical but frustrating defeat for PSG, who could have maintained their four-point lead over their closest rivals, RC Lens. The title race is partly reignited with this defeat against Olympique Lyonnais, who managed to find the right formula to surprise PSG and take an advantage they never relinquished.
Luis Enrique’s men tried to come back, created numerous chances, but couldn’t truly trouble Lyon. After qualifying for the Champions League, this setback in the league is difficult, as it also reignites the hopes of Lens, who will host PSG on May 13th.
