This Saturday, the women’s teams of Paris Saint-Germain (2nd in D1) and Reims (10th) will clash at the Stade Auguste Delaune II (broadcast on FFF TV) at 5pm as part of the 8th day of the Arkéma 2024-2025 Première Ligue. Paris coach Fabrice Abriel spoke to PSG TVabout the encounter . He highlighted the key points of the match.
Abriel “ to make the counter-effort to prevent the opponent from doing what he wants.”
“We can expect to face a side that, as is often the case, intends to defend well with the aim of countering us. We need to be solid in the game and make the counter-effort to prevent our opponents from doing what they want. This match will also be a great event, as it will take place at the Stade Auguste Delaune.
Abriel: “ We want to make the difference quickly”.
It’s always nice to be able to play on quality pitches and in stadiums of this stature. We’ll have to use the same ingredients and the same desire as in every match. We want to make the difference quickly.
We need to build on our last game against Strasbourg, when we led by two goals at half-time. When that happens, you feel you’re building confidence and composure.“
PSG are overwhelming favourites, but we all know that soccer isn’t that simple. Particularly in a women’s championship where the level has been tightening for some years now.
It has to be said, though, that leaving without a win would be a real disappointment for the Parisians. So, as Abriel points out, we need to continue to give it our all. Maximum determination and concentration are needed to avoid any unpleasant surprises.
Ideally, they should leave little hope, with a solid performance and efficiency. Let’s hope PSG can be as sharp as they were against Strasbourg (4-0) last week.
