On Saturday evening, Paris Saint-Germain drew 2-2 against Lorient in Matchday 32 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season at the Parc des Princes. Here are the highs and lows of this draw.
Highs –
No injuries.
This was the most important thing given the squad management; PSG finished the match without any further injuries. This is crucial for the rest of the season.
A night of firsts.
Renato Marin (19-year-old goalkeeper) and Pierre Mounguengue (18-year-old striker) each played their first match with PSG’s first team. A great moment, which could prove significant for the future.
Lows –
Conceding a goal a little too easily.
Everyone could see coach Luis Enrique’s anger, and understandably so. From a throw-in, Lorient were able to combine too easily and cross, finding a completely unmarked player in the box. Even with some rotation, PSG’s objective is clearly to win. They need more determination and concentration. This also applies to the backup players who are looking to make their mark.
Not particularly successful debuts.
We’re happy to have Marin and Mounguengue for the first time, but their debuts weren’t very positive. Marin conceded two goals without making any truly notable saves, while Mounguengue misplaced a pass that led to Lorient’s equalizer, resulting in a misplaced pass.
