Lucas Beraldo, the 22-year-old defender/midfielder for Paris Saint-Germain, spoke to Ligue1+ after the 1-0 victory against Brest this Sunday at the Parc des Princes in Matchday 33 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season.
Beraldo: “We’re preparing to be ready, to play and win there.”
Was the atmosphere crazy tonight?
It was incredible. The fans are always incredible. At home and away, it’s always the same. And that’s very important.
The league title?
We’re not champions yet, we still have two matches to play, one to win and then, to be champions.
What does it change to have almost secured it? Are you free of pressure?
No, nothing. We’re preparing for the two matches to win, just like all year round. And then to become champions.
Is the match against Lens also about sending a message? Showing that you’re stronger?
They’re an incredible team, they’ve shown that this year. It will be a very difficult match; playing there is tough. But we’re preparing to be ready, to play and win there.
A rehearsal before the end of the Champions League?
Yes, it’s a good match to play in, to prepare for the final against Arsenal.
Beraldo: “I feel good in this new position.”
How do you feel in midfield?
I feel good. The coach has given me a lot of confidence, and so have my teammates. I feel good in this new position.
Do you feel better in defense or in midfield?
It doesn’t matter; the important thing is to play and help the team.
Why was it so difficult tonight?
All matches against Brest are very difficult. But it doesn’t matter if we win 1-0, 2-0, it doesn’t matter. The important thing is the 3 points, getting the win.
Doué’s 100th goal with that goal?
There it is (he points to it in the tunnel), it’s incredible (smiles).
