Having arrived from Mallorca during the summer transfer window in July 2023, Lee Kang-In, a 25-year-old South Korean midfielder/winger, is under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until June 2028. He took some time to adapt and establish himself, but has finally grown in stature. He has been the subject of rumors in recent weeks, notably with interest from Atlético Madrid and the possibility of a contract extension. Today, journalist Romain Collet Gaudin confirmed that an agreement already exists with the Spanish club.
Lee Kang-In – Atlético Madrid agreement: the PSG player wants to return to Spain and sign for Madrid.
Spanish media outlets have already mentioned such an agreement; it’s a perfectly credible scenario. Lee could have a more prominent role at Atlético, who see a great opportunity to recruit a talented, versatile, and combative player. Unfortunately, all of this hasn’t been enough for him to fully establish himself at PSG, where competition is fierce. A departure is therefore a very real possibility.
However, nothing is concrete yet. Lee hasn’t confirmed a desire to leave, just as PSG hasn’t officially opened the door. Atlético Madrid’s offer isn’t certain and might not be enough. Doubts remain, even though it’s perhaps the most advanced transfer deal currently being discussed by PSG.
