Fabian Ruiz, the 30-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder who arrived from Napoli in the summer of 2022, has firmly established himself at the club while also shining for Spain. This success has sparked rumors, particularly given that his PSG contract runs until 2027. Speaking at a press conference with the Spanish national team this Tuesday, he was asked to comment on his future.
Ruiz: “The truth is, I am very happy there.”
“I have a contract with PSG until 2027. The truth is, I am very happy there. We have a great team. I’m lucky enough to play beautiful football and to have won two Champions League titles in a row. I have a contract, but for the moment, we aren’t talking about it. We’re taking things calmly. I’m focusing on the World Cup; we’ll see what happens after that,” he said, as reported by L’Équipe.
Although Ruiz leaves a hint of uncertainty regarding the future, his comments are quite clear. He is happy at PSG and shows absolutely no signs of considering a departure right now. He has stated several times in the past that he wishes to return one day to Real Betis, the club where he came up through the youth ranks. While that return might happen relatively soon, it almost certainly won’t be this summer. The midfielder is thriving at PSG, where he enjoys the confidence of coach Luis Enrique, and is expected to stay for at least another season—likely accompanied by a contract extension, perhaps a short-term one.
