Xavi Simons, the 21-year-old striker/midfielder under contract at Paris Saint-Germain until 2027, has been loaned back to RB Leipzig for the 2024-2025 season after a long wait. With no option to buy, the future remains wide open. This Friday, Bild reports that the German club wants to go for the Dutchman and recruit another player from PSG.
Nothing impossible, since we know how much Leipzig appreciate Simons. He’s injured, but the opinion is unlikely to change, and the player is at least comfortable enough with the club to go out on loan for a second year in a row.
However, this does not mean that a permanent transfer will be possible. An agreement on the price will have to be reached, a step that could prove complicated. Above all, Simons and PSG may have other ideas. Like seeing the Dutchman play in Paris at some point.
As for Kolo Muani, there are many rumours surrounding the 25-year-old striker, and it’s impossible to get a clear picture. We can only be cautious and patient.
Everyone is expecting movement at PSG this winter. That would be relatively logical. But we mustn’t forget that the market is often closed.
