Andrija Maksimovic, the 18-year-old attacking midfielder under contract to Red Star Belgrade until 2027, was rumored to be in the sights of Paris Saint-Germain for the mercato. However, he finally signed for RB Leipzig, it was made official on Wednesday.
There could be regrets, Maksimovic is a fine talent who could have a great future. But it’s impossible to recruit every player, and the youngster will find more affordable playing time in Leipzig. An argument that counts, and one that Paris can’t really change.
