Andrija Maksimovic, the 17-year-old attacking midfielder under contract to Red Star Belgrade until 2027, has been rumored to be in the sights of Paris Saint-Germain for the mercato. Journalist Christopher Michel (Absolut Fussball) insists that PSG have made their move.
A relatively credible announcement, since PSG are of course in the process of preparing their recruitment, and Maksimovic is heralded as one of the prodigies of his generation. It’s an arrival that would fit in with the project, with the idea of making him grow within the squad. There’s also always a desire on the part of the big clubs to “secure” the future before a player becomes terribly expensive.
As for the Serbian, signing for Paris could be an attractive step towards establishing himself at the highest level. However, there are still many other options for his future. Like staying in Belgrade. PSG could also opt for another option. Not to mention an agreement between all parties that is still far from guaranteed.
We must therefore remain cautious, as this is nothing more than a rumour. As we all know, this is a time for announcements in all directions. We’ll have to wait for something concrete to clarify matters..
