Ferran Torres, the 26-year-old Spanish forward, joined Paris Saint-Germain from FC Barcelona during the summer transfer window on a contract running until 2031. While his squad number hadn’t been announced initially, it was revealed on the club’s official website: he will wear the number 9.
“Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce the arrival of Ferran Torres. The Spanish forward—a World Cup winner—has signed with the club until 2031 and will wear the number 9 shirt.”
It is a logical choice, given that Gonçalo Ramos’s departure for AC Milan freed up both the number and the spot in the squad. Torres steps in to replace him, bringing—in principle—a bit more versatility. And, hopefully, more playing time.
