This Wednesday, during the second matchday of the 2026-2027 Champions League league phase, Paris Saint-Germain faced Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. Antoine Semenyo, the 26-year-old forward for the English side, spoke to CBS Sports Golazo following PSG’s 4-2 victory.
Semenyo: “Honestly, it’s quite frustrating.”
Is it tough to lose after a second half like that?
Honestly, it’s quite frustrating. I blame myself for the chances I missed. But the team’s overall response was very good—we just lacked the goals. We’ll take the positives.
Semenyo: “That’s how they’ve become two-time European champions.”
The fans never stopped supporting the team; do you have a message for them during this period?
They were fantastic, even though it must have been frustrating for them. We are very grateful.
Is PSG the best team in Europe? Do they have the next Ballon d’Or winner in their ranks?
Clearly. They could very well have the Ballon d’Or winner on their team. They made things difficult for us; we knew what to expect. It wasn’t a typical match. Credit to them—that’s how they’ve become two-time European champions.
