This Wednesday, during the second matchday of the 2026-2027 Champions League league phase, Paris Saint-Germain faced Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. Iliman Ndiaye, the 26-year-old forward for the English side, spoke to TNT Sports following PSG’s 4-2 victory (video highlights: Manchester City vs. PSG).
Ndiaye: “We had plenty of chances to turn the match around.”
What did the coach ask of you when you came on?
We needed to attack more and take risks. We did that; we had plenty of chances to turn the match around. We truly believed we could.
Is it difficult to head into halftime trailing 0-3 against one of the best teams in the world?
It’s never easy going into the break, especially with a scoreline like that. But there’s always a desire to contribute something—I tried my best.
Does this match show that you have to be clinical?
Absolutely—and you have to be focused right from the start. If we hadn’t conceded those three goals, we could have won. You have to be switched on immediately.
What did the coach say?
He was proud of how we responded. He wanted us to be brave and to attack. We did that, even if it ultimately wasn’t enough.
