The draw for the 2026-2027 Champions League league phase (scheduled to run from September 8 to January 27) takes place on Thursday, August 27, at 6:00 PM. Paris Saint-Germain is among the participating clubs. Below, you will find details on how to watch the draw and how the process works.
Where can I watch the Champions League league phase draw?
The event will be broadcast on TV via sports channels (L’Equipe, beIN SPORTS) and Canal+, as well as via a free live stream on the UEFA website. We will also provide live text updates of the draw as it happens.

Pot 1: PSG, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Manchester City, Arsenal, FC Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid
Pot 2: Borussia Dortmund, AS Roma, Sporting, Aston Villa, FC Porto, Manchester United, Club Brugge, Real Betis, PSV Eindhoven

How does the draw work? How the draw and the league phase work:

“Under the new format, teams will play eight matches in the new league phase (formerly the group stage). Instead of facing three opponents twice—home and away—they will play against eight different teams, with half of these matches played at home and the other half away.
To determine the eight opponents, teams will first be ranked into four pots. Each team will then be drawn to face two opponents from each of these pots, playing one match at home and one away against a team from each pot.”
Teams cannot face opponents from their own country during the league phase, nor can they play against more than two teams from the same domestic league.
Qualification based on standings:
1st to 8th: Qualification for the Round of 16.
9th to 24th: Qualification for a two-legged knockout play-off round.
25th to 36th: Elimination from all European competitions.
