Renato Marin, the 20-year-old Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper under contract until 2030, is spending this season on loan at CD Nacional in the Portuguese league. This weekend, he faced a tough away game against Sporting CP, a Liga NOS heavyweight. Although his team struggled (Sporting dominated with 16 shots to 3, 70% possession, and 12 corners to 0), the Italian goalkeeper stood out during the “mere” 2-0 defeat.
Playing for CD Nacional, Renato Marin delivered a polished performance against Sporting on Saturday night, despite his team’s 2-0 loss. The PSG-owned goalkeeper continues to develop in Liga NOS.

The video shows some impressive saves that bode well for his future at PSG—though nothing is guaranteed yet. There is still a lot of work to be done and more matches to master. It is also worth noting that he could do little about the two goals conceded: a penalty and a play where a player was left unmarked at the far post (see the highlights below).
We know that standards and competition are exceptionally high at PSG, but Marin is certainly one to watch for the future, especially as questions remain regarding the long-term starting goalkeeper. The former AS Roma player could eventually stake his claim. For now, the club is waiting to see more consistency from Matvey Safonov (27) or Lucas Chevalier (24).
