Renato Marin, a 19-year-old Italian-Brazilian goalkeeper who saw out his contract at AS Roma in the summer of 2025 and immediately signed with Paris Saint-Germain until 2030, played three matches during his first season. He is now set to leave on loan to secure more regular playing time. L’Équipe confirms the loan to CD Nacional, who finished 14th in Portugal during the 2025–2026 season.

“Renato Marin is set for a one-year loan to CD National in Portugal. The Italian-Brazilian goalkeeper (who turns 20 on July 10) is expected to arrive this Saturday to finalize the deal with the team that finished 14th in the most recent Portuguese championship.”

It would be quite surprising for multiple media outlets to agree on this move by mere coincidence. It represents a great opportunity for Marin to play regularly in a competitive league; many top talents have passed through Portugal. We can only hope he makes the most of this chance before returning next year, when his situation can be reassessed.
