Acting on a report from the referee and the FFF’s National Ethics Council, the Commission imposed a €20,000 fine on Mr. Olivier Létang.
There is no precise account of all the events surrounding the match, making it difficult to form a definitive judgment on the sanctions decided by the LFP. It is nonetheless surprising that Létang received no suspension after such vehement protests. There is the fine, of course, but €20,000 can hardly be considered a massive loss for LOSC or its president. We would like more details to understand why the decisions differ so much—especially considering the referee had simply explained his decision, which was highly contested yet logical. Mind you, we aren’t about to cry “scandal” ourselves (we don’t have €20,000 to lose); we are simply raising a question.
