As the 2024-2025 winter mercato draws ever closer (January), the rumors surrounding Paris Saint-Germain are piling up. Today, PSG Inside Actus reports that there is interest in Alexander Isak, the 25-year-old striker from Newcastle (contract until 2028) and Sweden, for next summer.
“PSG have reportedly already made contact with the player’s entourage.”
“Paris Saint-Germain, always on the lookout for talent to bolster their squad, have reportedly set their sights on Alexander Isak should Sporting’s Gyökeres , Newcastle United’s Swedish striker, fail. According to sources close to the club, PSG are seriously considering making an offer for Isak during the summer mercato.
Although discussions are still at a preliminary stage, PSG have already contacted the player’s entourage to express their interest. The Parisians see Isak as an ideal addition to their attack.
“PSG is ready to put in the necessary resources to attract Isak.”
Newcastle, who have invested heavily to attract the Swede, will not let their player go easily. What’s more, competition from other major European clubs could complicate negotiations. However, PSG is ready to put in the necessary resources to attract Isak to the Parc des Princes.”
Isak as plan B for Viktor Gyökeres (26, Sporting Portugal and Sweden) is not unthinkable. He could even be on an almost equal footing, given his different profile. In any case, he’s an interesting player, who isn’t yet with a major Champions League contender and could be open to a new project.
We remain cautious, however, as rumours are multiplying around PSG without the slightest official confirmation. We are therefore waiting for a minimum of concrete evidence before believing in a particular lead. Only a few of them are likely to make any progress this winter, without necessarily coming to a conclusion.
Let’s wait and see, as January is still a long way off in terms of the mercato.
