Victor Osimhen, the 25-year-old striker under contract to Napoli until 2026, was rumored to be close to Paris Saint-Germain during the summer mercato, but the deal was never finalized. Instead, the Nigerian international went on loan to Galatasaray at the last minute. He took the opportunity to shine again, and PSG’s interest was once again mentioned. This could lead to a transfer as early as this winter according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Gazzetta: Le PSG toujours sur les traces de Victor Osimhen pour janvier, son nom est revenu fort en France la semaine passée. Two clauses exist to recruit him in January: one for 75M in favor of Napoli, the other to break his loan agreement with Galatasaray.”
Nothing impossible, since Victor Osimhen is a top-class striker and PSG can still think about strengthening their attack. However, we remain extremely cautious, given that the rumours surrounding the Nigerian have been going on for a long time without the slightest confirmation.
Not to mention the fact that it’s not at all clear that his style fits in with coach Luis Enrique’s game. At least there’s no more talk of 130 million euros, which makes the transfer a little more feasible.
But it’s far from a foregone conclusion. Osimhen may simply prefer to finish the season at Galatasaray and aim for destinations other than PSG. The latter may also have other leads. As is often the case, we’ll have to wait and see.
