This Tuesday, during the third matchday of the 2026-2027 Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain faced FC Barcelona at the Parc des Princes. Following a performance in which the Rouge et Bleu excelled, they secured a 4-2 victory. Désiré Doué—who scored a goal and was named man of the match—spoke to Canal+ to reflect on the encounter.
Doué: “On the pitch, we give everything.”
4-2 last week, 4-2 tonight—is PSG the best team in Europe in October?
That’s not for me to say; that’s for you journalists and the supporters to decide. On the pitch, we give everything—the results speak for themselves, and we want to thank the fans. We get the job done in every match. It’s still early in the season, so we need to stay focused, as there are more big matches ahead.
Doué: “I don’t think I stole the spotlight from anyone.”
Tell us about your goal. Did you steal the spotlight from Yamal?
I don’t think I stole the spotlight from anyone; I give 100% in every match. Lamine Yamal is a great player, and Barcelona has many such players. The important thing is that we won tonight; a goal and an assist—that’s fantastic.
And your goal?
I tried to find a favorable position, managed to get a shot off, and the goalkeeper couldn’t stop it—it’s great!
