This Tuesday, as has been discussed in the media over the last few days, the Professional Football League (LFP) issued an official statement announcing the launch of a call for tenders for the broadcasting rights to Ligue 1 for the 2027–2032 period. This includes the option to either take charge of broadcasting French football or to distribute the existing channel, Ligue1+.
This is a major step, with the hope of finding a broadcaster that is interested and willing to put forward a proposal that would allow French football to regain some significant financial resources. Ideally, there will be several offers, and the LFP will have to choose the most compelling one. For now, we must wait to see if there are any responses and hold off until we know the LFP’s position. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for a positive outcome.
