This Saturday, as part of the 10th matchday of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain faced Troyes at the Parc des Princes. Kandet Diawara, the 26-year-old winger for the Troyes side, spoke to Ligue1+ following PSG’s 1-0 victory.
Diawara: “It’s encouraging.”
You showed a lot of courage, didn’t you?
Yes, exactly. We arrived with the right mindset, knowing we were up against a top-tier team. We performed well tonight—we gave ourselves a real chance—but, unfortunately, we fell just short. We managed to create a few opportunities, and we’ll try to take the positives from this. The fact that we played a good match against the best team in Europe is encouraging.
How did you find your duel with Warren Zaïre-Emery?
He posed some challenges for me, too; the goal was to cause as many problems for them as possible. I had to play to my strengths—rely on what I know how to do. I wanted to make an impact, and I hope to keep building on that. I’m pleased with my performance, even if I’m unhappy about the defeat.
