Paris Saint-Germain beat Angers 2-4 this Saturday at the Stade Raymond Kopa as part of Matchday 11 of Ligue 1 2024-2025. After the match, Paris coach Luis Enrique (54) spoke at a press conference. The Spaniard spoke of the return of efficiency, made to last, as well as the performance of Marco Asensio (28-year-old striker) as a false 9.

What’s your feeling after this match with efficiency?

It was a very complete match for our team. It seems to me that it was a complete match that we played. You can say it was an easy match, or not, but it seems to me that it was a match with a lot at stake, with a lot at stake. We were very effective. This blocking is going to pass, it’s the beginning of the change.

Luis Enrique “Everything is in our hands”.

PSG is still winning in Ligue 1 by scoring at least 4 goals, is that pressure in the Champions League?

If you take the examples of Brest or Monaco, who scored a lot in the Champions League, it shows that the level of L1 is high.

This team has good players. The quality is there. Is it a question of pressure, of responsibility (in the LDC)? It could be. But we’re going to score a lot of goals. The quality is there to meet the challenge. It’s all in our hands.

How do you feel about the second half? Were you disappointed?

Have you ever played soccer? (Silence.) The game should have stopped at half-time (ironic). Some fans sent tennis balls…they obviously wanted to play tennis. Yes, of course, I always want more goals, but the other team plays too.

Luis Enrique “I don’t create barriers for myself when I create my starting eleven.”

A word about Asensio’s match?

I thought he played well, with 3 assists. When he’s got the ball, he’s a top player. (Randal) Kolo Muani also played very well in the second half. When a number nine plays well, I’m satisfied.

I don’t create barriers for myself when I create my starting eleven, but I give certain players the chance to come onto the pitch. If the player trains and proves himself on the pitch, I’ll give him the opportunity.
