This Saturday evening, Paris Saint-Germain won 2-4 against Angers during the 11th day of Ligue 1 2024-2025 at the Stade Raymond Kopa. Here’s a look at the highlights and lowlights of the victory.
Tops –
4 goals scored
In Ligue 1, away from home, PSG is irresistible. With a 28th consecutive unbeaten match, 73 goals scored and now 21 conceded, this is a remarkable performance, especially with a reshuffled team.
Lee
The Korean is scoring points in every match, scoring, running, getting involved in Luis Enrique’s game and clearly improving. It’s a shame he can’t play in a specific position, but his versatility is a real asset to the squad. He’s very good in front of goal.
Asensio and Barcola stand out
Barcola continues to climb the goalscoring charts with a brace. Asensio was decisive 3 times, so it’s fair to say that the Parisian attack worked. There’s no magic formula yet, and of course the opposition failed in the first half, but Angers had been playing some good games and Paris coolly extinguished the spark like the steamroller everyone was waiting for.
Flops –
2 goals conceded
It’s frustrating to dominate so much and then come away with doubts. Those two goals should never have happened, but Paris don’t like simple stories. We regret the laxity, the slackness that will play tricks on them in the future if they don’t work on it.
Angers won the second half, but how is that possible?
Angers had two and a half chances and scored two goals, Paris had 14 shots, some very clear chances, a post and other situations and yet, in the end, PSG didn’t score in the second half. Kolo Muani missed the opportunity to regain his confidence, Doué failed to score and the Parisian structure, although still dominant, failed to get the game going and go the distance.
