On Wednesday at the San Mamés Stadium, Paris Saint-Germain drew 0-0 against Athletic Bilbao in Matchday 6 of the 2025-2026 Champions League. As we now do after every match, we asked our readers to vote for the best PSG player of the game. Warren Zaïre-Emery (19-year-old midfielder) won.

A great success for the Parisian youth academy graduate, who, in addition to returning to form, is showing real progress in this “hybrid right-back” role, filling in for the absence of Achraf Hakimi (27). This is a significant factor in the team’s overall strength throughout the season. He is at least very solid defensively. And he is developing offensively, even without Hakimi’s contribution. Which is quite understandable given the latter’s exceptional form.
To complete the podium, we quite logically find Matvey Safonov. The 26-year-old goalkeeper was solid in the saves he had to make. We particularly appreciated his proactive approach; he didn’t just react to situations. This certainly earned him points in a team that was otherwise a bit frustrating. He lacked composure in the first half and efficiency in the second. Seeing Fabian Ruiz (the 29-year-old midfielder) in the top three, despite his misses in the first 45 minutes, was a bit of a surprise.
Thank you for your votes. As a reminder, the top three from each match are then used to determine the Player of the Month.
