Warren Zaïre-Emery, Paris Saint-Germain’s 18-year-old midfielder, stopped off in the mixed zone after the 0-0 draw with Auxerre on Friday at the Abbé-Deschamps as part of Matchday 14 of Ligue 1 2024-2025. He spoke of the frustration of a scenario that is repeating itself, and of the need to rediscover efficiency.

A frustrating draw?
Every time I come here (in the mixed zone, editor’s note), I repeat myself quite often. It’s often the same problem. We play a good game, we create chances, but we don’t take them.
There’s always room for improvement, but I’d say that’s the good thing we’re lacking. If we score, it’ll make the difference.
Is it something on your mind?
I wouldn’t know. At the start of the season we were scoring, but it’s a bit more complicated now. I couldn’t tell you why we’re not scoring. We do everything. Maybe there’s a slight lack of concentration in the final gesture, I don’t know. Sometimes it’s like that.

How is the group?
It’s a slightly more complicated period than the others, but we’re continuing to work every day in training. It’s going to pay off. Our matches aren’t bad. We don’t have bad games all the time. It’s just that we don’t manage to convert the chances we create and score our goals.
How can we help our forwards?
You have to try and give them confidence. When someone scores, no matter who it is, it’s going to continue and we’re going to roll. With the confidence of each player, we’ll score goals and make the most of our chances.
