João Neves, the 21-year-old right midfielder for Paris Saint-Germain, spoke to Canal+ after PSG’s 1-0 victory over Bayern Munich (5-6 on aggregate) on Wednesday at the Allianz Arena in the second leg of their 2025-2026 Champions League semi-final (final on May 30 against Arsenal).
Neves: “We’re very proud of our journey.”
What’s happening in the locker room?
We’re celebrating. It’s always a pleasure to advance and reach the final. We’re very proud of our journey and what we’ve achieved here, and what we’ve done during the Champions League. We’re celebrating because it’s time to celebrate, to be with the team, our families, and everyone who has helped us get here.
Neves: “We’re building a great team.”
Was it harder tonight or last week?
Playing against this team is always difficult; they play very well. They’re a great team. We know how to dig deep, and I think we’re ready for what’s coming.
Did you think at the beginning of the season that you’d be able to get back to this level?
Even with the injuries we’ve had, and regardless of the players who have been able to play, and the number of minutes they’ve had, we’re building a great team.
