On Wednesday at the Allianz Arena, Paris Saint-Germain drew 1-1 against Bayern Munich in the second leg of their 2025-2026 Champions League semi-final and qualified (5-6 on aggregate). Following the match, UEFA named the best player of the game.
Willian Pacho, the 24-year-old defender, is a truly worthy winner of this trophy. Of course, other players were genuine contenders. But the Ecuadorian was very impressive, imperious in stifling Bayern’s attacks. It’s great to see defensive players being recognized in top-level matches as well.
