Ousmane Dembélé, Paris Saint-Germain’s 27-year-old striker, spoke to beIN SPORTS after the 2-5 victory over Brest (video highlights Brest/PSG) on Saturday at the Stade Francis-Le Blé as part of Matchday 20 of Ligue 1 2024-2025. He spoke of his hat-trick, without forgetting his team-mates and the importance of victory over their opponents in the Champions League play-offs (February 11 and 19).
Dembélé “you have to congratulate the team and the passers.”
You don’t have the treble ball, do you? At the moment you’re collecting them, it’s exceptional what you’re achieving?
I think today we have to congratulate the team and the passers because the first goal I just had to push it in and on the third the pass is exceptional I just had to put it in. It’s good that I’m well placed, I’m in the role of number 9 and I have to score goals.
Do you have to save yourself at times playing in this position?
Yes, because I played more on the line, it was harder to score goals. I had to dribble past 3-4 players to score, whereas now I’m in front of the goal and all I have to do is push the ball forward.
Dembélé “we had to get the job done today.”
Sending a message to Brest?
Yes, it’s important, we know we’re going to play them again in the Champions League and we had to get the job done today. We need to keep up our good form and see what happens in the Champions League.
