Paris Saint-Germain won 2-5 against Brest (video highlights Brest/PSG) on Saturday at the Stade Francis-Le Blé on Matchday 20 of Ligue 1 2024-2025. After the match, Paris coach Luis Enrique spoke to beIN SPORTS.
Luis Enrique “It was an exceptional match with two teams each playing with their own weapons.”
Thank you for the show. Did you enjoy yourself as coach of Paris Saint-Germain?
Thank you, yes I can say I enjoyed myself. It was an exceptional match with two teams each playing with their own weapons. It’s always difficult to play against Brest, even with a two-goal lead. We’re happy with the result and we’re thinking about the next game, of course.
Does this team keep improving?
Yes, of course, but it’s clear that we’re on an extremely positive trend. Throughout the season, there will be more delicate moments and lows, but the team maintains its line of work, with new players coming on board. The players are doing their best, and they’re making the most of their playing time to do the best they can.
Luis Enrique “When there’s been criticism, you have to accept it.”
Have they got the hang of it yet?
From my point of view as a coach, it’s extremely satisfying. When there’s been criticism, you have to accept it, it’s part of the process and I hope we can maintain this rhythm. I don’t think so, because there are always ups and downs, and we have to keep looking for resources.
Luis Enrique “Ousmane can become the player he wants to be.”
Are you surprised to see him so good in the number 9 position?
Is there a soccer lottery in France? Because I think Ousmane could fill the lottery and win a prize. Ousmane can become any player he wants. He has no equal. If he stays calm and quiet, he can score with his feet and his head, but I’m sure that the press will haul him up like Maradona. He’s a very intelligent lad and he knows how to take advantage of his team-mates. We’re delighted to have him in such good form.
