This Tuesday at 6.45pm (UTC+1), Paris Saint-Germain take on Brest at the Stade du Roudourou as part of the Champions League 2024-2025 play-off first leg (return on Wednesday February 19). In a press conference, Brest coach Soumaïla Coulibaly spoke about this special match against his hometown club.
Coulibaly “We’re all ready for this game.”
How does it feel to be back with PSG?
It’s a source of pride to be able to play against Paris. I spent 5 very good years there. It’s a source of pride.
The mix of experience and youth at Brest?
We’ve got a very good group, we live very well together. We all get on very well.
You were in the LDC before coming to Brest. How do you see your team-mates progressing and what’s next?
It’s true that I’m one of the few people to have played before, but we’ve got an experienced group who’ve played a lot in other competitions. We’re all ready for this match, and we’re going to try to rise to the challenge and give our all on the pitch.
Coulibaly “Paris taught me soccer.”
What did you learn in Paris?
It’s clear that it’s partly thanks to Paris that I’m where I am now. I’ve learned a lot, and Paris has taught me about soccer. The DNA of Paris is still with me. Particularly the ability to get things moving again.
A particularly feared Parisian?
No, I wouldn’t say that. We all know that they have very good strikers. We have to be ready for that. We shouldn’t be afraid, they’re just players, even if they are very good. We’re going to try to come out with something.
