Paris Saint-Germain and Brest faced off this Saturday at Stade Francis Le Blé in the ninth round of Ligue 1 2025-2026. The match ended in a 3-0 victory for Paris. After the match, Brest coach Eric Roy spoke to beIN SPORTS.
Roy: “There were also a few small mistakes, even though we played the game we wanted to play.”
How do you feel after the match? Frustrated? Were the players combative?
We saw that it was complicated. They are a very, very good team. We tried, but we didn’t have the arguments, the weapons. And we didn’t seize the small opportunities. We were fairly well organized, we made a fairly good start. But you have to be able to string together passes when you recover the ball.
You can’t always be under pressure, otherwise you just run around, you get tired and you can’t press anymore. And Vitinha can put that ball in. There were also a few small mistakes, even though we played the game we wanted to play. It’s a shame we didn’t score the penalty, because you never know what might happen next. But we were beaten fairly.
Roy: “0-3 is a bit of a heavy score. Even if it’s deserved.”
Is it possible to turn things around going forward? Are there any positives?
The most important game is against Le Havre. Even if we’re still hoping for a miracle. And PSG, as is often the case against us, scored with practically their first big chance. The third goal bothers me. We’re frustrated. We want to save our honor, but 0-3 is a bit of a heavy score. Even if it is deserved. The goal difference is significant. It’s a bit frustrating. But this PSG team is on fire.
