This week saw the third matchday of the 2025-2026 Champions League. UEFA then held various fan votes. Paris Saint-Germain, who won at the BayArena today against Bayer Leverkusen (0-3, video summary Brest/PSG), did not have a player in the running for the trophy for best player of this Champions League. The competition was between Fermin Lopez (22-year-old attacking midfielder from FC Barcelona), Dennis Man (27-year-old winger from PSV Eindhoven), Felix Nmecha (25-year-old striker from Borussia Dortmund), and Gorka Guruzeta (29-year-old striker from Athletic Bilbao). Fermin Lopez won.
There’s no big surprise here, as the Barça player scored a hat-trick in addition to his strong performance in the game. A logically striking performance, and the victory makes sense, even if the competition was high-level. Enough to not include a PSG player, despite a superb victory.
