The Champions Trophy is usually held in August before the start of the new season. This year, however, the latter did not take place, and the match between Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco has neither a date nor a venue. However, according to the latest information, the match could take place in January, in Doha.
Playing another match on the other side of the world in January, in a totally different climate, can be hard on the body. It’s worth remembering that this year, with the new formula, the Champions League doesn’t really have a break, as PSG will have two European matches in January.
Adding the Champions Trophy to the calendar would therefore be too much, even if this is of little importance to the main organizers.
