It is now official: 33-year-old Lucas Digne has signed with Paris Saint-Germain through 2029. On his official X account, the French international spoke about his return and expressed his joy at joining the Rouge et Bleu.
“What joy and pride to return to this club that means so much to me.
I am so happy and proud to be back here, at this club that is so close to my heart.
A huge thank you to President Nasser, Luis Campos, and the Coach for their trust. I fully appreciate the privilege and responsibility of wearing these colors once again.
Now, I have just one wish: to return to the Parc des Princes, to that unique atmosphere, and to see you—the fans—so we can share more great moments together.
The story continues…
This is Paris.”
After a stint with the club between 2013 and 2016, Lucas Digne moved abroad, where he built a highly impressive career (playing for AS Roma, FC Barcelona, Everton, and Aston Villa). He returns to the Parisian club—now at the pinnacle of European football following two consecutive Champions League titles—with greater maturity and experience.
Lucas Digne will aim to make his own contribution to the team’s success. For the capital club, this signing is excellent news. PSG clearly needed to strengthen and add depth to the position where Nuno Mendes has already established himself as a key figure. Competition for the spot will be fierce, but Digne arrives with the experience and pedigree to earn significant playing time.
