On Saturday at Stade Bollaert, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Lens 1-2 on Matchday 18 of Ligue 1 2024-2025. We then asked our readers, as they do after every match from now on, to vote for the best Parisian of the match. Bradley Barcola (22-year-old striker) came out on top.
No great surprise there, even if Barcola wasn’t particularly good throughout the match. But the Parisians were generally in trouble, and few of them stood out. In the midst of this collective performance, which was mixed at best, Barcola deserves credit for making an assist and scoring a goal. That’s obviously important and significant.
Behind him, Gianluigi Donnarumma (25-year-old goalkeeper) pulled off some important saves, but had little to do with the goal conceded. Fabian Ruiz (28-year-old midfielder) continues to irritate some with his sometimes weak defensive impact and somewhat skittish play, but he didn’t miss everything and scored the equaliser. That’s enough to put us on the podium after this match.
We would like to thank you for your votes, which will henceforth be organized after each official match. We would also like to point out that the podiums from the player of the match elections will be used to elect the player of the month.
