On Wednesday at the Stade Bollaert, Paris Saint-Germain won their rescheduled match from Matchday 29 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season against Lens 2-0. As we now do after every match, we asked our readers to vote for the best PSG player of the game. Matvey Safonov (the 27-year-old goalkeeper) won.

It was an exceptional, resounding, and undoubtedly deserved victory. PSG wasn’t brilliant as a team yesterday. There was rotation, and we sensed a certain restraint in their efforts. This isn’t illogical given the absences and the Champions League final against Arsenal on May 30th, which is still on their minds. Against a strong Lens side, Safonov needed to be at his best to hold the line.
Along with some excellent defensive interventions, one might have expected a few more votes for Ilya Zabarnyi (23 years old) or Lucas Beraldo (22 years old). But Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (25-year-old striker) opened the scoring, not forgetting to defend, and Dro Fernandez (18-year-old midfielder) made some beautiful passes.
Thank you for your votes. As a reminder, the top three players from each match are then used to determine the Player of the Month.
