Paris Saint-Germain defeated Lens 2-0 this Wednesday at the Stade Bollaert in a rescheduled match from the 29th round of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. After the match, Lens midfielder Adrien Thomasson (32 years old) spoke in the mixed zone. He mainly discussed his departure from the northern club, but also the day’s opponent.
Thomasson: “The match showed the difference”
“PSG, which for me is the best team in Europe, perhaps even the world. The match showed the difference that still exists between them and us, and we must also congratulate them because they deserve their league title.”
Despite a defeat that may be somewhat frustrating, given the number of chances Lens created, Thomasson remains a good sport. He knows that PSG is superior, which is not unreasonable. The Parisians were simply more efficient in this match, but that’s part of football. Throughout the season, Paris has clearly demonstrated its quality. However, Lens also deserves credit. They were a strong contender right to the end, and we hope they manage the summer transfer window well to continue in this vein, even without the crucial Thomasson.
Competition is a positive thing; it pushes you to improve and makes successes all the sweeter. PSG deserves all the credit for winning the title despite a lack of preseason training and against a formidable opponent. And let’s not forget the Champions League final against Arsenal on May 30th.
