Paris Saint-Germain and Lens faced off this Sunday at the Stade Bollaert in Lens for the 2026 Trophée des Champions. The match ended in a 1–0 victory for Lens. Following the game, Lens head coach Dino Toppmöller spoke at the press conference.
Toppmöller: “It’s truly a collective victory”
A special moment for you?
It’s something special. It was my first match here—with my team and the fans. And as I’ve already said, it’s truly a collective victory involving the entire staff and all the players. The atmosphere played a huge part in securing this title for the club today.
Toppmöller: “We can beat anyone here”
Are you proud of your players?
I feel immense pride in what the players gave on the pitch today. We knew going into the match that we would have to dig deep against a technically gifted team. They play a strong possession game and are very dangerous in the final third. But we also knew we could achieve something—especially, of course, in transition.
We played with heart today, and it showed. For me, that is always the most important thing. I said before the match that you can never guarantee a result. But if we give it our all, with this crowd behind us, we can beat anyone here. Today, we proved that.
