On Matchday 32 of Ligue 1 2024-2024, Paris Saint-Germain lost 2-1 to Strasbourg at the Stade de la Meinau. It was a fine result for the Strasbourg outfit, as the European race rages on.

PSG’s priority is clearly, and logically, their Champions League semi-final second leg against Arsenal on Wednesday (0-1 win in the first leg). As a result, they fielded a much-changed team in Strasbourg. That didn’t stop them from dominating the game, but they were ineffective in every area, and lost out to a Strasbourg side with interesting play and spirit.

Paris thus ended its unbeaten away record in the 5 major European leagues at 39 matches, but above all Strasbourg took precious points towards Europe next season.

Earlier in the weekend, Nice had “done the job” by suffering against Reims. A very fortunate 1-0 victory (9 shots to 16) and essential. Les Rémois were once again interesting collectively, but are still worried about relegation.

Monaco came through a very tricky trip against a Saint-Étienne side as enterprising and energetic as ever, but also a little ineffectual and naive at times.

The clash between Lille and OM was dominated by the Marseillais, but ended in a 1-1 draw that didn’t make anyone happy, but also avoided a really bad result.

On the subject of bad results, Lyon could have huge regrets in 2 days’ time when they look back on the match they clearly dominated against Lens, but lost to a last-gasp goal. This against Lens, whose hopes of qualification are very slim indeed.

Pour ce qui est du maintien, Angers a remporté le duel avec Nantes avec fin de respirer un peu, même si la place de barragiste reste un vrai risque face aux Nantais et au Havre, qui a obtenu un succès encourageant contre Auxerre.
