This Friday, during Matchday 2 of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain faced Lille at the Stade Pierre Mauroy. After a match where the Rouge et Bleu dominated possession but lacked the cutting edge shown by the Lille side, they finished with a 2-2 draw. Here are our ratings for the Parisian players.
Goalkeeper –
Matvey Safonov (6.5) – He could do nothing about the goals conceded but managed to pull off some good saves and made important interventions outside his penalty area.
Defenders –
Achraf Hakimi (4) – There were positives and plenty of runs, but he is still struggling to regain his precision and that touch of magic when finishing off plays.
Marquinhos (6.5) – He was beaten for pace by Haraldsson on the opening goal but was otherwise very solid defensively. He scored the 2-2 equalizer right at the end of stoppage time.
Willian Pacho (5) – The defender has not yet returned to his imperious best; he gave Olivier Giroud a bit too much room to provide the assist for the opening goal, as his decision to step out of the defensive line created the very space that was exploited.
Warren Zaïre-Emery (5) – Filling in at left-back was no easy task, and he handled it professionally. However, he struggled a few times when playing the ball out from the back and committed some turnovers.
Midfielders –
Vitinha (7) – A mixed start to the match, but he regained his usual influence after Lucas Beraldo came off, settling into the holding midfield role. His goal was magnificent—it is a shame it didn’t come from one of his earlier attempts—but he also provided the assist for Marquinhos. Mr. Decisive.
Lucas Beraldo (4) – He didn’t have much of a defensive impact, and we’ve seen him look sharper when distributing the ball. Replaced in the 61st minute by Mika Godts.
Fabian Ruiz (5) – Put in a lot of effort and played a few lovely passes, but struggled a bit to make his presence felt during the first half.
Forwards –
Maghnes Akliouche (6) – An interesting performance in terms of playing out under pressure; he also delivered some good attacking passes. He’ll need to step up his game to provide more of a spark. Replaced in the 77th minute by Dro Fernandez.
Ferran Torres (5) – Very active, whether dropping deep, making runs in behind, or getting on the end of crosses. An interesting display, but he lacked the necessary sharpness or decisiveness. Replaced in the 71st minute by Senny Mayulu.
Désiré Doué (3) – Despite returning to his preferred position on the left flank, his attacking impact was far too limited. At times, he made things overly complicated for himself. A disappointing—and costly—half of football. Replaced in the 45th minute by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (5.5). He was sharper, without managing to make the difference.
Coach –
Luis Enrique (5) – It’s hard to judge without being inside the squad and close to the players; PSG were far from a total failure, but a draw isn’t really enough. Still, the squad showed great resilience. The start of the season is a unique phase, but they will need to find the right formula to start winning soon.
